One thing that I’ve noticed on travelling outside of Thailand is that food is so different. When you live in England or the US and eat Thai food, you’re eating tasty food, but you don’t realise how much more healthy it is.
In Thailand, you can buy any food you like, although non-Thai cuisine is much more expensive than local food. And hey, we’re in Thailand, let’s eat local!
And now that we’re in America, we’re making up for lost time. In the last few days I’ve eaten breakfast cereal, Belgian waffles, several types of cake (including swiss roll), US-style trifle, spaghetti and meatballs, lasagne, ‘Chinese’ chicken and so much more.
I should add: Thanks in-laws on both sides, for helping us stay fed on this fun holiday/vacation.
