A while… and so much

It’s been a while since our last update. When I posted the photos in our last post, we had just arrived in Bangkok and started some simple exploring around the Siam malls. Since then, we’ve both started jobs (I’m teaching, my wife is working with those in need – more on that later), we’ve rented an apartment, moved further south than Siam, signed up for internet at home, organised mobile numbers and found the local eating establishments.

But this post is about our shipping. We shipped a vast amount from England. Books, clothes, towels, kitchenware, blankets, a printer, HiFi amp and so much more. Now that those things are in our apartment – especially the books and board games, it’s beginning to feel a lot more like home. We have actual plates to eat off of, actual sauce pans in which to cook and metal spoons in place of plastic.

Teaching is a bit of a culture shock, even though we were prepared for some of the Thai cultural differences, but that will have to be the subject of a later post!

  1. I bet you both are happy to have your own personal things after all this time.
I keep up with Andy on what’s going on. I saw the picture of all the boxes. You are very organized.
You and Becky are living the life so many dream of. Good for you for following your dreams.

We will be missing you during Christmas. I hope you have a great holiday.
The boys are doing great. Jason speaks to Santa every night. It’s so funny to hear what comes out of his mouth .

Getting the boys a live Christmas tree today.
Wishing you and Becky a magical season in Thailand.
Love uncle David and the boys
